Making your own dishwashing cake is a simple, natural, and eco-friendly solution for your daily dish care. With this easy dishwashing cake recipe, discover how to create a solid cleaner, without chemicals, that is as kind to your skin as it is to the environment.
In just a few steps, you'll transform your cleaning routine into a gentle, effective, and committed experience. A beautiful way to make your kitchen shine while taking care of the planet.
Preparation time:
10 minutes
Rest time:
3 hours
Yield:
One 100g dishwashing cake
In the saucepan, mix the SCS, SCI, and water. Heat on very low heat and mix the ingredients, being careful to crush the granules well. Stir until a soft paste is formed.
Remove from heat, add the rest of the ingredients, and mix until homogeneous.
Transfer the mixture into a small jar or ramekin, then press it firmly with a spoon or your fingers (wearing gloves, of course!).
Leave the jar open, without a lid, and wait at least 3 hours before the first use of your dishwashing cake.
During this time, you can gently press the top of your dishwashing cake again so that it is well compact and solid.
To use your dishwashing cake, nothing could be simpler: just rub a slightly damp sponge or a bamboo brush over the top of the cake to pick up a little material. You'll see that a small amount is enough to degrease and make your dishes shine. Even if it foams less than a classic liquid, its effectiveness is formidable.
After each use, let the dishwashing cake dry thoroughly in the open air, in its open jar or on a soap dish if you have unmolded it. Avoid closing it immediately to prevent trapping moisture, which could shorten its lifespan. Well-preserved in a dry place, your dishwashing cake can last several weeks, even several months, depending on the frequency of use. A simple, economical, and environmentally friendly gesture – true to our values!
