Minimalist packaging policy: the customer pays for the content and not the container!
At La Sultana, we carefully price our products to reflect the cost of the ingredients they contain.
We truly believe that proper product advice and personalized service can save a customer more than fancy offers and eye-catching visuals.
Many consumers are drowning in unused products because they were eye-catching in their beautiful, brightly colored packaging and silk ribbons. Often, this is a false impression of luxury, for example: a white box with metallic lettering (we invite you to read our article on the color white in marketing).
You will never save money on a product that is over-packaged or wrapped in “luxurious” materials.
How does La Sultana fight against over-packaging?
SOLID PRODUCTS
By offering so-called "solid" products. Shampoos, soaps and body lotions. First of all, these products benefit from a higher concentration because they are not diluted with water. They are also lighter and take up less space, also allowing the packages to be lighter and smaller.
ECO-RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION
Our packaging and shipping materials are simple and minimalist, reducing our environmental footprint and production costs. We use recycled boxes, kraft paper to secure packages and for gift wrapping. Our bulk products and those in small boxes (like shampoos) are all kraft and are not printed.
PET PLASTIC
Some of our products have a more liquid consistency, so we have no choice but to use plastic containers. Why plastic instead of glass? It's simply a question of weight. Glass is expensive and fragile to handle, requiring even more padding when shipping packages (nonsense!). Our plastic containers are made of PET. PET plastic has many potential uses after the end of its life cycle, and its status as one of the most widely used plastic packaging materials in the world is due to its performance qualities and its highly recyclable nature.
RECYCLED HEMP
All our labels are made from recycled hemp, a sustainable and environmentally friendly material. Of course, their appearance is less flashy , because hemp paper is matte and does not allow for glossy printing. Hemp is a renewable resource that requires little water and no pesticides for its cultivation, thus reducing its ecological footprint. In addition, by using recycled hemp, we reduce the consumption of new resources while contributing to the reduction of waste. This approach reflects our desire to reconcile the quality of our products and respect for the planet.
When we founded La Sultana, our goal was to get back to basics: create quality products from carefully selected raw materials, encourage local purchasing, and most importantly, offer affordable prices to our customers. Reducing the quality of ingredients was not an option, but reducing the costs associated with packaging, containers, and boxes was an obvious solution. By opting for simple materials, without gimmicks or complex marketing designs, we are able to save several hundred dollars per month.
