Indigo for hair Indigofera tinctoria
Indigo for hair Indigofera tinctoria
Organic indigo powder is a black hair dye with blue highlights.
- By mixing with henna, you will obtain shades ranging from dark brown to black, while covering white hair. Moreover, this powder is excellent for concocting an anti-yellowing shampoo bar for white to blonde hair.
- Very little indigo is enough, we suggest mixing it with henna, unless you want a fairly dark hair color.

USE
In natural coloring, Indigo powder helps to strengthen the shades and darken brown to brown hair.
On black hair: used pure on black hair to add midnight blue highlights, indigo is generally mixed with other powders for vegetable coloring.
On brown to brown hair: mixed with natural, Indigo powder will allow you to obtain a brown color.
On white hair: if white hair represents more than 30% of your hair, we recommend a two-step application:
- A first application of natural henna (your white hair will be more orange)
- A second application of natural henna (1/3) and indigo (2/3) mixture, to obtain a brown color.
The use of Indigo is not recommended for light hair, especially when used pure. (Note: If you have long hair, you must multiply the dose of powder by approximately 3)
Pour lukewarm water into a bowl containing the mixture until you obtain a consistent and homogeneous dough.
Apply the paste directly to your hair in a thick layer. Cover your head with a towel to keep in the heat. Leave for 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the desired intensity then rinse thoroughly.
