INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions for making are included in the box.
Containers/Pots: must be clean and at room temperature, with no preheating required.
Fragrances: The maximum recommended load is about 9-11%. After melting the wax at 185°F, remove it from the heat, add the fragrance, and stir gently for 2 minutes.
Melting: Melt GW 444 wax at 185°F while stirring gently. Add desired fragrance, then cool to a pouring temperature of 125°F - 145°F.
Pouring: Varies depending on container, fragrance and desired effects. A recommended starting temperature is 135°F.
Cooling: Cool candles at room temperature (70°F/21°C) for at least 24 hours. Allow candles to sit for 48 hours before testing.
Burn Test: Test the candle after a minimum of 48 hours to check the diameter of the burn pool and the quality. During the first session, it is essential to allow the wax to melt to the edge of the container. Otherwise, a build-up of unmelted wax can form, creating a depression in the center. This impairs the flame by reducing the oxygen supply and can eventually drown the wick.
Storage: Store flakes in a cool, dry place, away from heat, sunlight and humidity.
SECURITY
Wax handling must be done by an adult. Wax is very hot and should never be left unattended. It is important to use a wax warmer or a double boiler. Never put wax in a cauldron directly on the fire.
Never leave a burning candle unattended and away from drafts (in addition to being safe, it will burn very quickly if left in a windy place). In addition, a candle should not be lit for more than four hours at a time. The candle should be placed on a flat surface, out of reach of animals, children and curtains. We suggest using a glass or ceramic coaster to protect your surfaces.
